When standard towing is free

We're buying the vehicle — free towing comes with a purchase for recycling; it isn't a standalone towing service.
The vehicle is complete — engine, transmission, wheels and main body parts still in place.
Standard access — reachable by tow truck from a driveway, street, laneway or yard.
Within our service area — Ladner, Tsawwassen and nearby South Delta, subject to availability.

When it may not be free

We don't promise free towing in every situation. You'll be told on the call if any of these change things:

Stripped shells or vehicles missing major components.
Vehicles stuck in soft fields, ditches, or behind obstacles that need special recovery.
Vehicles we aren't buying.

Special recoveries are quoted separately, and you'll always know before a truck is sent — never after.

Why we're upfront about it

"Free removal" means different things to different companies. We'd rather explain the conditions clearly than surprise you at the curb. Describe the vehicle and its location honestly, and you'll get an honest answer about both the offer and the towing.

Prepare for an eligible standard pickup

Before pickup

Gather ownership paperwork, valid authorization and available keys, then empty belongings and remove plates if safe. Jay carries tools to help with seized or stripped screws but cannot promise every bolt. Clear movable obstacles and tell him about blocked access, long parking or blackberries; difficult recovery needs assessment and may have a separate cost.

During pickup

Jay confirms the vehicle, legal seller and documents, checks the approach and pays before loading. Winching depends on safety and feasibility. The purchased vehicle is secured on an insured tow truck, never driven unsafely on roads; expired road insurance is okay for towing.

After pickup

Retain your plates and sale paperwork and contact an ICBC Autoplan broker about cancellation or transfer of insurance and applicable registration obligations. Free collection is not a substitute for confirming these separate next steps.

What does free standard towing actually include?

What makes a vehicle complete for this discussion?

Describe whether the engine, transmission, wheels and significant body components are still in place. The useful distinction is between parts that do not work and parts that are physically missing. Eligible end-of-life cars, SUVs, pickups and minivans may qualify without running. Tell Jay exactly what has been removed instead of assuming a mostly complete vehicle is eligible for the same towing terms. He can assess the purchase and explain what applies.

Does a no-start or mouldy vehicle lose free towing automatically?

Those conditions alone do not automatically make a complete vehicle stripped or reduce its quoted price. A car that ran when parked years ago may not start today, and Jay understands that. Loading still depends on whether it rolls or steers and where it sits. Disclose missing significant components and any difficult access so eligibility can be confirmed; a non-running vehicle is not the same thing as a difficult recovery.

Can an East Ladner yard or overgrown location need a paid recovery?

Yes, depending on the actual access and recovery requirements. Tell Jay about soft ground, blackberries, blocked approaches and a vehicle that has sat for years. A winch may be used if safe and feasible, but its availability does not promise free extraction from every location. Jay assesses the practical job before booking. Avoid pulling the vehicle yourself or entering unsafe growth simply to try to qualify it for standard towing.

What should I confirm before agreeing to a Ladner pickup?
