Junk Car Removal in Ladner for Non-Running Vehicles

Cars that haven't moved in years, failed repairs, accident write-offs — if a complete unwanted car or SUV is sitting in your Ladner driveway or yard, it's worth a phone call.

Vehicles we commonly buy

Non-running cars

Dead engines, failed transmissions, electrical faults — no need to get it running first.

Accident-damaged

Collision damage and insurance write-offs, depending on what's left.

Long-parked vehicles

Flat tires, rust and seized brakes. Tell us so the right equipment comes.

Old SUVs and vans

Family vehicles at the end of their road, complete or nearly so.

Completeness is what counts

The strongest offers go to complete vehicles — engine, transmission, wheels and major components still in place. If parts have been removed, say so when you call; an undisclosed missing engine is the kind of thing that changes an offer at pickup, while a mouldy interior or a dead battery is not.

Non-running? Here's what helps

  • Say whether the wheels roll and the steering turns — this affects how it's loaded.
  • Mention if the vehicle is locked in park with no keys.
  • Clear a path to the vehicle if you can: move bins, bikes or other cars.
  • If it's in a garage or carport, note the ceiling height and door width.

Get a long-parked vehicle ready safely

Before pickup

Take out belongings, find registration or proof of ownership, valid authorization and keys if available, and clear movable obstacles. Remove plates if practical and safe; Jay carries tools and can help with stubborn screws without guaranteeing every bolt. Mention blackberry growth, years parked or blocked access rather than trying to recover the car yourself.

During pickup

Jay checks the vehicle, legal seller, paperwork and access, then pays before loading. A winch may be used only where safe and feasible. Purchased vehicles are secured on an insured tow truck; Jay never drives an unsafe scrap car on roads, and expired road insurance is okay for towing.

After pickup

Keep plates and paperwork and ask an ICBC Autoplan broker about insurance cancellation or transfer and registration obligations appropriate to you. The physical removal of an unwanted car does not automatically complete those matters.

Questions before you book

Which unwanted vehicles does Jay consider for purchase?

Jay buys eligible end-of-life cars, SUVs, pickups and minivans for recycling, including complete vehicles with mechanical trouble or years of wear. He personally serves Ladner, Tsawwassen and the listed neighbourhoods. Describe the vehicle rather than assuming the label “junk” tells him enough. Have the year, make and model ready and explain condition and missing parts. A stripped vehicle requires assessment; there is no promise to buy or freely tow every vehicle.

Do I need to diagnose or repair the car first?

No mechanical diagnosis is required before an enquiry. Say what you know about the vehicle and whether significant parts remain. A car that no longer starts after years parked, or has mould inside, does not by itself reduce the quoted offer. You do not need to revive it for a test drive. Loading information such as seized wheels, locked steering or missing keys is useful even when you cannot explain the mechanical fault.

How do missing parts affect a junk car quote?

The offer is based mainly on make, model and completeness. An engine that does not work is different from one that has been removed. Identify significant missing components or wheels on the call and discuss any items you plan to keep. If a vehicle is described as complete and important parts are unexpectedly absent at arrival, the offer may change. Normal deterioration is not treated as the same kind of discrepancy.

Is standard towing included for a West Ladner non-runner?

It is free for eligible complete vehicles purchased for recycling when the job qualifies as standard towing. Being non-running does not tell the whole access story. Describe the parking position, whether wheels roll and any obstacles between the truck and the car. Jay personally serves West Ladner but still confirms each pickup’s practical requirements. A difficult recovery can need assessment and a separate cost, discussed before a time is agreed.

What if a long-parked car is blocked in or overgrown?

Tell Jay about the actual obstruction, blackberry growth or surface under the vehicle before booking. Describe only what you can see safely; do not crawl under the car or pull it with another vehicle. A winch can help where safe and feasible, but recovery is not guaranteed at every site. Access, loading requirements and possible separate cost need assessment, especially if the vehicle has not moved for years.

What paperwork and permission are needed to sell?

Have registration or proof of ownership and valid authorization ready. The owner or authorized seller must approve the transaction, even if someone else meets the truck and provides keys or access. Confirm that arrangement by phone so the sale is not dependent on an unauthorized helper’s decision. If you are unsure what documents apply, raise it before pickup rather than assuming that an old car needs less paperwork because it is being recycled.

What do I remove before Jay arrives?

Check the car thoroughly for belongings, garage door openers and passes. Keep keys and sale documents available. Remove plates if you can do it safely; Jay carries tools and can help with seized or stripped screws but cannot guarantee every bolt releases. Clear movable obstructions from access. Discuss retained aftermarket items before removal if they affect completeness, rather than changing the vehicle after the quote and expecting the same offer automatically.

How does collection work with expired insurance, and what follows?

Expired road insurance is okay for tow-truck transport. Jay confirms the vehicle, legal seller and access, pays before loading and secures it on an insured tow truck. He never drives an unsafe scrap car on public roads. After collection, keep plates and paperwork and contact an ICBC Autoplan broker about insurance cancellation or transfer and relevant registration obligations. Do not assume that selling and towing the vehicle complete those matters for you.
