Undisclosed missing significant components or wheels can affect it if the vehicle was described as complete. Be clear about parts already removed and anything you intend to retain, rather than attempting to repair or clean the vehicle for inspection.
It applies to eligible complete vehicles Jay purchases for recycling where the job qualifies as standard towing. Rural access must be checked rather than assumed: ground conditions, obstacles and the truck’s loading position matter. Explain any soft surface or distance from firm access. A difficult recovery may require further assessment and a separate cost, agreed before booking. There is no blanket guarantee of free recovery from a field or obstructed yard.

Explain any blackberry growth, blocked approach, seized wheels or soft ground, and describe what you can see without putting yourself at risk. Do not walk beneath unstable parts or try to pull the vehicle out with another car. A winch is a loading tool, not a guarantee that every overgrown or deeply stuck vehicle can be recovered as a standard pickup.
Arrange proper ownership paperwork and authorization for the sale, not just gate access. Another person can meet the truck and provide keys or entry, but must not sell without the owner’s authority. Remove belongings and gather keys if available. Take off plates where safe; Jay carries tools to help with stubborn screws but cannot promise every bolt will release. Confirm locked gates and access arrangements before the appointment.
Expired road insurance is okay because purchased vehicles are transported on an insured tow truck. Jay never drives an unsafe scrap car along public roads. Do not attempt to reposition a questionable vehicle yourself merely to bring it closer to access. Tell him where it actually sits and whether it can roll or steer. The safe approach and any recovery requirements should be assessed from those facts before pickup.
Jay confirms the vehicle, legal seller and documents and checks the loading route at arrival. Payment is made before loading, with the vehicle secured for tow-truck transport afterward. Retain the plates and sale paperwork and contact an ICBC Autoplan broker about cancelling or transferring insurance and your applicable registration obligations.
